The Fruit of The Spirit – Gentleness – Gal 5:22-23: Introduction and Summaries of Parts 1-10
The Fruit of the Spirit, is a single or one fruit with a number of portions. It is a fruit because of the portions and all of its portions. A fish is a fish with all of its parts and it cannot remain a fish without any or its parts, seen and unseen.
None of the parts or components of the fruit can exist or be present without the other. It is a wheel or rim of nine rods or strings with each performing inner and outer functions that the other cannot do and none can act in isolation from the other.
1. The Fruit of the Spirit Gentleness
i. Disposition to be gentle, soft spoken or kind
ii. Disposition to be even-tempered (not high, hot or reactionary tempered).
iii. Disposition not to be agitated, aggravated or become irrational or easily irritated
iv. Disposition of being cultured – particularly in the Christlike culture.

3. This Fruit of the Spirit – Gentleness – Deeper Understanding
It is a portion of the fruit of the Spirit. So it is the spirit of gentleness. It is in the realm of the spirit and then manifests or shows up not once but always as what you can see, sense, touch, handle and partake of it. It has the nature of taking charge, controlling, guiding, directing and restraining the possessor.
It affects what you see, how you see, what you hear and what you hear; how you understand; how things impact or affect you; affects your reaction; your speech; tone; words temperaments and how people see, hear and feel you as well as react to you.
There is a difference between violent waters and calm waters. It is not the same as when we refer to a man as a gentleman. Gentleness is filling, total, complete, always, not seasonal or some of the time.
4. It is a complete package of gentleness in spirit, soul and body.
Jesus said – let not your heart be troubled in Jh 14:1-3.
5. Understanding the Fruit of The Spirit – Gentleness – Very Likely Sources in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
a. Comes from assurance of Salvation by the Holy Spirit – 2 Tim 1:12 | 1 Thess 5:9 | Gen 41:37-57
b. Comes from Submission to God by the help of the Holy Spirit Gentleness of the Spirit of David as he approved Goliath – 1 Sam 17:32-37; 51-57 | Acts 13:22.
c. Comes from Presenting Our Bodies A Living Sacrifice by the help of the Holy Spirit – Dan 6-8 | Rom 12:1-2
Gentleness of Daniel and his friends under major Kings – Rom 12:1-2.
d. Comes from Dwelling in the Presence of God The disciples under persecution in Jerusalem – Acts 5: 29-32 | Ps 1:1-3 | Ps 16:11 | Psalms 92:13.
e. It Manifests in Your Prayer – Asking more for the kingdom of God than your person needs. Showing calmness of spirit that the Lord is taking care of them too = 1 Thess 5:17; Matt 6:10
f. It comes from a confident assurance of who God Is – What He can do, what He has done
and what He has promised to do. Phil 1:6 | Heb 7:25 | Heb 10:22
g. You Can Be Like The Gentle Patriarchs of Old

The gentle in the spirit are those who are confident only in the love of God for them. Rom 8:53-39

6. Evidence of The Fruit of the Spirit – Gentleness
The man that is full of the fruit of the spirit called gentleness is: Refined in thought, imaginations, character and conducted actions like Christ Jesus. A man that is a joy, lifting and light to be around his mental state, emotional state, physical state, marriage, family, business etc
show forth his gentleness without doubly for all to see, taste, drink and ask for more of. He needs not personally introduce himself a Christian – his gentleness of spirit does.
CONCLUSION
There is not love without gentleness
There is no faith without gentleness
There is no joy without gentleness
There is no peace without gentleness
There is no long suffering without gentleness
There is no real progress and fruitfulness without gentleness
