THE CROSS OF JESUS AND 1: Part 7

A Sure Pathway To Living An Overcoming Christian Life.
Bible Passage – 1 Cor 1:17-18; Heb 12:2; Rom 1:16; Matt 16:24-25

The Sayings of LORD IN PROPHECY AND THE LORD JESUS About The Cross – Before the Cross Sayings about the cross, in prophecy and by the Lord Jesus before going to cross shall as we study a few of them, reveal more truths and wisdom to understand, stay, live at and carry our own cross.

1. Purpose of Our Lives and The Cross

Purpose of Your Life Can Only Properly, Fully and Comprehensively Revealed At The Cross

We need to ask and answer the questions :-
Why was I born?
What is my purpose in life?
What is my destiny?
What am I supposed to achieve

Since every God given destiny is tied to the cross of Jesus, it can only be revealed at the cross
It can only be heard at the cross

It can only be understood at the cross

It can only be accepted at the cross

It can only be empowered at the cross and through the cross | John 18:37 | Matthew 1:21 | Luke 2:35
(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

2. The Sufferings and Price By the Cross Is All Encompassing – Isa 53:1-12

The sufferings by the Cross of Jesus is all encompassing, covering all areas of life, living nothing out nor unpaid for It is Spiritual, Physical, Material, Emotional, Deep and Eternal. It is all covering and all conquering – That is what Paul declared in Rom 8:35-39

That is why we sing in the hymn: In Christ Alone – ‘No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from his side.’

That is why we sing – There is power mighty in the blood

3a. Disobedience To The Lord and Betrayal of The Lord Have Solutions Only At The cross

To disobey the Lord can be said to be a betrayal of the Lord. It is a command trend among believers and it is usually a lifestyle. It ought to be broken completely.

Not to do as at when and correctly what the Lord says m, instructs or commands can be said to be a betrayal of the Lord.

How many times do we disobey or betray the Lord? Power for obedience is secured at the cross.
Matt 26:1-2 | Matthew 26:31 | Mk 14:27 | Matthew 26:33 | Luke 22:34 | Matthew 26:34

Judas’s Betrayal of Jesus

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

3b. One of The Great Recipes or Breakthroughs Not To Deny Jesus Is To Deny Yourself

To follow Jesus wholly and fully, self must die and only Jesus must live in and through us.

To follow Jesus, it is staying and living at the cross that kills self: Luke 9:23 | Matthew 16:24 | Matthew 10:33
Jesus Broke Through and Fulfilled Destiny By Denying Himself

Self is Gal 5:19-21, Anything and Everything Outside of Gal 5:22-23 | John 15:20-21
The Cross is Gal 5:22-23 and 1 Cor 13:4-8

4. Do Not be Offended At The Lord
– It is a Great Error and Danger – It can be latent, hidden, manifest or open. It is the root of many actions.
Are you offended at the Lord. Why is he delaying, not answering what you want and how and when you want it.

Why are his thoughts different from yours?
He is not meeting my expectations. What are the sources or root of your expectations- they should be in the cross.

One of the denying living is that our expectations should agree with the expectations of God. Not only where the disciples offended at the Lord, they were first thoroughly disappointed at the Lord – for failing to become a physical king and drive out the Roman Occupation and
not agreeing with the revolutionaries. Matthew 26:31

5. Denying Myself Again – Is Living Only In and For His Will: Matthew 26:37-42 | John 15:20-21 | John 15:1-8

CONCLUSION

Bearing much more fruit, not just fruit is the expectation and calling of Jesus on us. To be able to accomplish this the Cross and the benefits of living at the Cross is the only way designed and acceptable to the Lord.
