Holy means: dedicated to a religious purpose or a god; revered in a religion; faultless, flawless, perfect; separated or set apart from something; sanctified set apart or dedicated for a specific purpose; reserved, special.
Why must you be holy?
1. God has made you a god. Exodus 7:1
2. He expects you to be holy. Leviticus 20:7
3. A kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Exodus 19:6
4. To consecrate and to sanctify them. Exodus 29:33
What must you do to be holy?
1. Put away a strange god. Genesis 35:2
2. Don’t sacrifice to any other god. Exodus 22:20
3. Don’t bow down to any other god. Exodus 23:24; Exodus 32:1
4. Don’t make covenant with other god(s). Exodus 23:32; Exodus 34:15
5. Thou shall worship no other god. Exodus 34:14
6. Don’t make a molten god. Exodus 34:17
7. Don’t turn to idols. Leviticus 19:4
8. Don’t go after other gods. Deuteronomy 6:14
9. Be holy in all manner of conversation 1 Peter 1:15
Benefits of being holy
1. You will be like your Father.
2. You will be a favourite of God.
3. God will arise and fight your battle.
4. Wonders are bound to happen in your life. Exodus 15:11 | Deuteronomy 10:17
5. Open doors. Revelation 3:8
6. There shall be showers of blessings. Ezekiel 34:26
7. You will find favour in the sight of God. Genesis 18:3 | Exodus 3:21 | Exodus 12:36
8. You will be redeemed. Genesis 48:16
9. Guided by his strength unto holy habitation. Exodus 15:13
10. Joy unspeakable. 1 Peter 1:8
11. Abundant mercy and restoration of hope. 1 Peter 1:3
12. A change of name and also empowered by God. Genesis 32:28
13. Power to get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18
14. Make your way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:33 | 1 Chronicles 29:11
15. Burden shall be taken off thy shoulder. Isaiah 10:27
