The Expected Christian Life and Description
BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 16:1-8; 1 Samuel 2:1-10; Isaiah 6: 1-8; Revelation 1:11-18
INTRODUCTION
Where there is a glory there is a story. Where there is a story, there is either gory or shame. The kingdom of God is about the power and the glory of God. Matt 6:13; 1 Chron 29:11. Every man no matter his age or level has a story. Every man no matter his age or level has either a story of glory or shame.
Our God is the king of glory. His kingdom is a kingdom of only glory and not shame. No man of shame brings glory to God. A child of God is a child of glory. The purpose of our salvation is to bask in, dwell in and show forth the glory of our God. 1 Peter 2:9
What Is Glory?
Simply the opposite of shame. It is holiness, obedience, presence mercy, works, and power of God, revealed in us, abiding in us, show forth all the time in us.
Purpose of The Study
There is a need to write your story, tell yourself your own story, even daily or weekly. Psalms 90:12 – Teach us to number our days, and apply our hearts unto wisdom. Measure, examine and weigh your story. To be intentional about living for and the in the glory of God. To reject and stay away from anything that do not glorify the Lord.
To know that it is God’s record of us that can lead to glory. That your story may agree with God story concerning you. Do not wait until some people that do not really know your story write it when you are gone.
Examine Your Story To Ensure It Is Always A Story of The Glory of God and Glory Unto God.
It is not a joy to God, when we are not filled or showing forth His glory. Rather, it is a rejoicing to the devil when we live and dwell not in glory. Remember 1 Cor 11:31-32
God, His Glory and You Ps 97:6; Ps 19:1; Ps 96:3; Isa 42:12
God wants you to give Him glory and all the glory. God is already glorious and in glory. To give God glory your life must be generating glory. Your life must be a place of glory and honour. It is not enough to give God glory by word of mouth. You word or praise must agree with glory and be glorious before you can give glory to God.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speak. – Matt 12:34; Prov.23:7. The story of glory of Saul and David – 1 Samuel 16-22. The story of glory of Samuel and the sons of Eli – 1 Samuel 1-3. The story of glory of Elisha and Gehazi – 2 Kings 2-5
How Does/Can My Life Become A Life of The Story of God’s Glory?
Only the living can praise the Lord – it is the living that has a living story of glory. Isaiah 38:18-19. For Example: When you want to marry in those old days, the family find out the story of the other family. They are interested in two things – a family in glory or shame.
When the Lord says obey me, he is asking for a life of glory and in glory. Deut 11:13. When the Lord says be ye holy as I am holy, he is asking for a life in glory and of glory.1 Pt 1:16
Heaven is a Place of glory – The qualification is glory and holiness – Rev 21:27
Glory is of God Only – Matt 6:13; 1 Chron 29:
Our God is glorious. God reveals his glory. God plants glory, God invests glory. God relates with us in glory.
God expects man to become glorious as He reveals, plants, invests and relates with man in and with glory.
God does not expect glory where he has not revealed, planted, invested and related in glory. Ex 15:11; Jh 2:11; Ps 19:1
How Does God Do All These?
The Bible can be said to be the book about the glory of God. The Bible is the book of the story of the lord of God. Glory is about the person of God, his imaginations, his thoughts and his actions. It is about his wonders, his creation and his plans. For example, in Rev 1: 11-18, John saw the glory of God. Isa 6:1-8, prophet Isaiah saw the glory of God. Ex 14: – Israel saw the glory of God at the Red Sea. 1 Sam 17: Killing of Goliath by David was a glory of God. Judges 14-16 – Acts of Samson were revelations of the glory of God.
The Disciples living with Jesus was just the story of the glory of God for three and half years. Being saved from sins and forgiven, given the Holy Spirit with precious promises is all about the glory of God. Revelation of the end times and heaven is just about the glory of God. Miracles, healings, deliverances, solutions, breakthroughs and word of God we hear today are all about the glory of God.
So, the Lord has and he is still revealing his glory, planting his glory, investing his glory in us today and daily. This Bible Study is also about the glory of God. The Lord expects a harvest, a return, a resold of my life and your life too becoming a story of his glory.
