1. He will loose hope and faith

2. He is filled with doubts

3. He will look for alternative gods and alternatives

4. He can go into great sin and backsliding

5. He can loose his love and passion for God

6. He loss his vision, purpose and passion

7. He withdraws from all important and life issues

8. He can become suicidal

There Are Different Types, Levels and Categories of Discouragement

Eight (8) Practical Routes To Discouragement – You Should Be AWARE OF AND AVOID: 1 Cor 10:12-13 | Lk 8:1

Discouragement do not come with a bang or all of a sudden. It comes gradually. Discouragement is a location, place and a habitat. There is a road to discouragement. It can be called the Valley of Discouragement.

It welcomes and onboard people as if you are newly employment in an organisation that you need to acculturate into.

Discouragement is also a form of trap and a snare – Ps 124:7-8 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Ps 91:3

Holes are dug and the holes become trenches to suck into discouragement.
Comes like – Little Foxes That Give Room or Open The Door to Big Discouragements – Song of Songs 2:15

8 Routes of Discouragement To Know and Avoid

1. Loss of interest Reading the Bible – Joshua 1:8 | Heb 12:4 | 2 Tim 3:16-17

2. Prayerlessness – pray without ceasing, even when things look rosy – 1 Thess 1:16-18 | 2 Chron 7:14 | 1 Thess 5:16-18

3. Unbiblical Prayers; – pray the perfect will of the Father – Matt 6:10 | 1 Jh 5:14-15 | James 4:3

4. Lack of Fellowship; – not forsaking the assembling – Heb 10:25

5. Lack of Worship The Lord Wants (not entertainment or pleasure) – Jh 4:23-24-

6. No Vision, Purpose or Goal – personal for all areas of life: Prov 29:18

7. A Very Negatively Critical Spirit and Attitude – 2 Sam 6:20-23 | Dan 1:8 | Prov 20:18

1. Lack of Foundation, Purpose and Godly Goals

Introduction

A discouraged man is of very little benefit to himself, other people and to the Lord.

Discouragement drains.

Discouragement makes weak.

Discouragement makes blind.

Discouragement is a weapon and tool of the enemy.

Discouragement is an enemy of God and man.

The Holy Spirit is shut out and down in discouragement, Discouragement brings and encourages darkness, hopelessness, powerlessness, defeat and failure. Therefore, a child of God must guide and guard against discouragement.

There is no one that cannot and is not always attacked with discouragement. Discouragement is like a deflated or punctured tyre. It cannot go far and well if not taken care of, it reduces speed, motion, progress for the rider and also those around him.

Purpose of Study

Discouragement is dangerous, blinding and suffocating children of God must guide and guard against discouragement.

Our study focus today is on discouragement, an enemy of the children of God, a took of attack and aggression by the enemy. It is all around us every time.

What Is Discouragement?

Loss of hope. Loss of confidence or enthusiasm in something important, precious, good or needed and required. It being dispirited. It is giving in to things, people or circumstances that are preventing, deterring or creating difficulties and bottlenecks on your path to a goal, life, vision or focus.

It is loosing Will power to forge ahead, confront, strife, contend, seeing no obstacles, giants on the way.

The discouraged see, thinks and perceives differently from the encouraged.

It is a deflated tyre compared to a deflated tyre.

It is a man breathing normally and naturally compared to one that without oxygen he is dead.

Discouragement can be spiritual, emotional, physical, in ideas, in strength.
