INTRODUCTION:

WHAT IS MERCY

(Dictionary) mercy is compassionate treatment of or attitude towards an offender, adversary, etc., who is in one’s power or care; it could also be known as clemency or pity.

The Bible:

The clemency of God towards believing Christians in providing and offering them a measure of time during which they can survey their life and recognize, through God’s Grace, what they need to do in order to change, conform to Jesus and work out their Salvation by Christ.

WHAT IS GOD’S MERCY?

The wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy -James 3:17

WHAT DOES THE MERCY OF GOD INVOLVED

The mercy of God involves the following five things. One, of course, is His person-who He is. The Lord is merciful, so it involves His person, who He is. – Psalm 111:4, Psalm 115:5, Psalm 119:64, Psalm 119:156, Psalm 145:8, Ephesians 2:4

It not only involves His person, but it involves His provision. It is mercy that makes all His benefits possible. – Psalm 103:2 says, “Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits.”

Thing that is involved in the mercy of God is His patience. Look please at Psalm 103:8-9 again. It says, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger.” That is the word “patient.”

Thing that is involved is His pardon. There are no two verses in the Bible that so clearly demonstrate what God does with our sin than these two verses -Psalm 103:11-12.

Involves something else. Go back to Psalm 103 again. It not only involves His pity, it involves His plan. I like that mercy is behind the plan of God -Psalm 103:15-19, Psalm 105, Psalm 138:8

WHAT DOES THE MERCY OF GOD DO?

Psalm 103:3-14

Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses, his acts to the children of Israel.
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

WHY DO WE NEED MERCY?

Mercy fuels compassion, providing promising glints of light in a darkened world.

For It’s kindness, forward forgiveness, and empathy.

Mercy chooses not to be offended, and compassionately sees a hurting heart behind hurtful words.

God’s mercy is reflected in the cross of Christ, a direct reflection of His love for us.

Mercy is an extension of and expression of love, “an act of kindness, compassion, or favor.” Mercy is a characteristic nature One True God.

WHO WILL RECEIVE THE MERCY OF GOD

Those who love the Lord and are willing to change through repentance and through the keeping of God’s Law –Prov 28:13

CONCLUSION
Changing is a process and it does not happen overnight, but our God is a covenant keeping God. His Mercy is a gift available for all those who love Him and whose heart is sincere in their desire to change and conform to Jesus. And those who are patiently working out their Salvation daily through Sanctification. God shows us His Mercy and our walk with Him is a lifelong experience.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – AGAINST SUCH THERE IS NO LAW – Gal 5:22-23

Against Such There is No Law – Summary of Parts 1-16
Our concluding part is the 17th Part – Against Such There is No Law

The purpose of the law is to shed light on what is right, what is wrong, what God expects of us and to know the mind of God, as well as be able to access His blessings. The law is what we must do and no go against.

As many as the laws are they can be summarised in this Gal 5:22-23 as we need God to obey the law and once we live by the fruit of the Spirit we have obeyed all the laws of God.

Introduction

Remember and never forget without Jesus, without the Holy Spirit you can do nothing – John 15:5
The Lord is the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is of the Lord. Who can stand against the Spirit of the Lord. When the Spirit of the Lord brooded on the deep, nothing could stand against creation. Gen 1:1 | 2 Corinthians 3:17 | Luke 24:49

In the same manner, no power can stand again the Spirit of the Lord, and His fruit.

The Spirit of the Lord in man is the fruit of the Spirit

The power of the Lord in man is the fruit of the spirit

The presence of the Lord in a man is the fruit of the Spirit.

Where the fruit of the Spirit is, the Lord is there, the name of the Lord is there, the help and refuge of the Lord are there.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is not present, then the Lord will do nothing.

With the living and manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit in the life of a believer – consistently, fully, completely and all the time, there is nothing more the Lord requires, expects and seeking.

Your life and living will no long offend or be an offense to God.
Insulated against error, omission or commission.
Focus is no longer on not committing sin, but living in and by the fruit of the Holy Spirit – no longer a life of trial an error but living in the Lord, for the Lord and by the Spirit of the Lord.
It is such people that can escape the snares, traps of the enemy.
It is power against temptations – in it is the power to overcome temptation
In it is the power to be children of Abraham indeed.
It is in it that we have access to all the promises God have to Abraham
It is in this living that the great and precious exceeding promises are ours.
It is in it that we shall not fulfil the list of the flesh.
It is in it that pride of life and the world will not be over story.
It is in it that we are more than conqueror indeed.
It is in it that the kingdom of God enlarges.
That is what is meant to be the salt of the earth.
That is what is meant to be the light of the world.
That is the only location that our light can shine indeed.

CONCLUSION

Enoch had it. Joshua had it. Daniel and his friends had it The Apostle Paul, Peter and John are great examples
That was what made Stephen prayed for his murderers and one of which was Saul/Paul, those are the categories that pray the will of God, those are the categories that should be prayer warriors and get their prayers answered, these are the sons of God indeed.

These are the Christian the world and the Lord are waiting to see manifestations of the sons of God, those are the Christian’s that can change our nation – at home, in the work places, markets places etc.

This is your calling as a Christian – against such there is no law Your life and living is risen above the law, you are no longer under the law.

For under the law is beneath the call of God for your life, under the law is living in the flesh, under the law is in the trap of the devil & Under the law is living by and for yourself.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – Temperance Gal 5:22-23

WHAT IS TEMPERANCE ?

It is a control; a moderation in the indulgence of the appetites and passions. Phil 4:5
It is A domination of the spirit of the Lord
It is subjugation of Appetites for material, physical etc things
It is Control of the passions for the desires of the flesh
It is a dealing of deadly blows and defeats to the Lusts of the eye, list of the flesh and pride of life etc. 1 Jh 2:15-16.

WHY DO I NEED THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – TEMPERANCE?

To succeed in the way of the Lord in this world and in the world to come can only be by the Fruit of the Spirit – Temperance- 1 Cor 9:25-27 | Dan 1:8-16 | Rom 13:14 | Phil 4:5 | 1 Thess 5:6-8 | Tit 2:2-3; 11-12 | 2 Pet 1:5-10

WITHOUT TEMPERANCE WHAT ARE THE LOSSES

Without temperance you cannot study and meditate on the Bible
Without temperance no solid relationship with the Holy Spirit
You need temperance to mortify the works of the flesh
You need temperance to love you neighour as yourself
You need temperance to pray aright
You need temperance not to be unequally yoked with an unbeliever
You need temperance to preach the gospel with fruits following.

Opposite of Temperance
Tempest– severe storm, hurricane, floods – Acts 27:18 | Acts 9:1 | Job 9:17

Where there is tempest and storm – there is fear, works of the devil, no

The disposition to be gentle, kind, indulgent, even balanced in tempers and passions, and patient in suffering injuries without feeling a spirit of revenge. Ps 25:9

Summary of Parts 1-12 and Summary of Part 13 – The Fruit of the Spirit – Faith Gal 6:22-23

“Faith, is the living, divinely implanted, acquired, and created principle of inward and wholehearted confidence, assurance, trust, and reliance in God and all that He says” Dakes Bible Upon study, we came across this and was detained and arrested by the Holy Spirit to mediate and draw great benefits and light from this more than a definition but inspired descriptions of the Fruit of the Spirit Faith, that the God wants us to have, be full of and live by throughout of lives.

We shall allow the Holy Spirit to help us glean life impacting understanding and hunger to have this faith as we examine each part of this super description of faith.

FAITH, IS THE LIVING:

Faith is not described as a living but the living. This has great implications. It is not just one of anything but it is so important with the article ‘the’ – it is specific, it is outstanding, noticeable, undenying, seen and very much evidential.

Note the beginning of the summaries of the lives of the patriarchs of old in Heb 11: 4-8

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

It is living – faith does not die because the owner of a true and living faith does not really die but only sleep -Hebrews 11:4 | John 11:25 | Romans 4:17

THE SENSES. OF YOUR FAITH

If faith is living then in a physical understanding the five senses like in man must be alive and functioning:

Can your faith see? What does your faith see? What is your faith seeing and revealing to you.

Can your faith touch? What is your faith touching?

Can your faith perceive? What is the aroma your life is perceiving and receiving by faith?

Can your faith feel?

What is your faith hearing? What are you hearing from your living faith? No wonder we have a number ministries/churches called – ‘Living Faith’

Remember- Faith come this by hearing, hearing by the word of God

These scriptures show the living nature of faith: Romans 10:17 | Hebrews 11:6

A man of faith indeed can never die. A man that does and ends in hell is not a man of faith.

For by faith, the man of faith lives, holy and in total in submission to God. As he lives and when he dies he dies in faith and is eternally living and alive unto God.

Does your faith have emotions?
Is your faith alive, living and dominating all areas of your life?

Are there things you do outside of faith in God?

Remember the just had only one way to live and be really alive to God, self and others – by faith only – Is your faith a – Living Faith.
FAITH IS DIVINELY IMPLANTED

Do have a picture of that which was not there, but not so needed and you do not have – in your body, in your car or any other place, a resource or skills you need in your organization and not present. You acquire such and place it where it is needed and you can see it deliver the required impact and result.

This is a description of faith. It is not of you. It is of God through the Holy Spirit to you. It is given or implanted or planted in you.

A farmer plants, in the same way the fruit of the spirit is planted and allowed to be planted.
If yes it is implanted there must be result. Ephesians 2:8 | Philippians 3:9 | 1 Thessalonians 3:5 | Ephesians 3:17

FAITH IS DIVINELY ACQUIRED.

Remember the picture of a man infected by a virus and it leads to a disease and sickness – negative but with positive understanding of faith. Any disease acquired must have symptoms, manifestations and inability
to do what he used to do before.

This what happens when a man has the fruit of the spirit- faith.

Lord increase our faith – this was the prayer and heart cry of the disciples Lk 17:5.

Another cry – Lord help my unbelief – Mk 9:24 | Romans 4:3 | James 2:18 | James 2:20
FAITH IS THE CREATED PRINCIPLE OF INWARD AND WHOLEHEARTED CONFIDENCE AND ASSURANCE IN GOD AND ALL THAT HE SAYS

What is A Principle?
For the fourth and fifth descriptions of faith – what is a principle?

Principle is:
i. A comprehensive and fundamental law, doctrine, or assumption

ii. A rule or code of conduct

iii. Habitual devotion to right principles a man of principle

iv. The laws or facts of nature underlying the working of an artificial device

v. A primary source : ORIGIN

The Fruit of The Spirit – Faith – Gal 5:22-23

Introduction – Purpose – Need for The Fruit of the Spirit – Faith

Many things cannot be believed, cannot be conceived, cannot be known, cannot be received, cannot be attempted or carried out for God, for yourself and for others except and only by faith.

Men cannot enter into the realm of the best the Lord has for them but by faith. The Lord cannot partner with you without faith.
He cannot really and completely be on your side without faith. Hebrews 11:6

Since the Lord relates with us, speaks, blesses, deals with us by and through faith, man because of the magnitude of what God wants to do with us and for us requires faith. God is a spirit and we need come up to the level of the spirit by faith for this to happen.

The Holy Spirit is the one that gives us this fruit of faith, helps us grow and sustain the fruit of the Spirit faith for our life-long and eternal relationship with God.

This is faith generated, built and released into man by the Holy Spirit, as well as sustained by the Holy Spirit. This faith is first spiritual but it must manifest in the physical. Romans 4:3; Gal 3:6 | James 2:23 | Romans 4:3 | Galatians 3:6 | James 2:23

Man cannot have nor generate this kind of faith but only by God.
This faith is divine nature that the Lord has made available for man.
It is beyond the capacity and capability of the man.
That is why it is called the Fruit of the Spirit – Faith- John 15:5

The Great Importance of The Fruit of the Spirit – Faith – Heb 11:1-13 | 2 Peter 1:4 | Heb 11:1 | Heb 3:18 | Heb 11:6

A faithless life ends in wickedness and sorrow.
Faith in God is the first leg or level in humility.
Faith in God opens the door to the untold blessings and riches in God.
Faith is the vehicle to know God, reach God, stay with God and receive all that He has for you.
There is no child of God without faith this kind of faith in God.
You are both a work of faith and manifestation of faith – Ephesians 2:8
The best way to life is by faith – the just shall live by faith. No other place to live in but in faith. Hab 2:4 | Rom 1:17 | Gal 3:11 | Heb 10: 38.

The Christian life or living is done on the road of faith, with the currency of faith, with a heart of faith; is a walk and a work in faith. A deeper look and understanding of the way of a Christian and also the way of the Lord which is the way of faith, should be wholly and fully understood and embraced by all Christians on their journeys.

This Fruit of the Spirit – Faith – can be described as:

Substance of things hoped for (Heb 11:1)
Evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1,7)
Creative power of divine works (Heb 11:3)
.Cancellation of natural law (Heb 11:5)
Basis of pleasing God (Heb 11:6)

The Holy Spirit through its fruit – faith helps us to enter into a total and complete life of manifestations of fruit, a life dominated by faith in God and of God, a life that can be summarized by faith.

All things given by God requires faith and ride on faith.

All promises, gifts, healings, holiness, submission, obedience, miracles, evangelism, love and heaven rest and ride on faith.

No wonder the Bible asks- show me your faith. -James 2:18-20 This the Holy Spirit works in us and with us to attain.

CONCLUSION
All things outside of faith are dead and not alive . Without faith God is not available or involved. Lack of faith is the greatest ignorance. Lack of faith is the worst wickedness a man can unleash on himself.

5. Does not want it wasted but reaching and touching others.

The Fruit of The Spirit – Gentleness – Gal 5:22-23: Introduction and Summaries of Parts 1-10

The Fruit of the Spirit, is a single or one fruit with a number of portions. It is a fruit because of the portions and all of its portions. A fish is a fish with all of its parts and it cannot remain a fish without any or its parts, seen and unseen.

None of the parts or components of the fruit can exist or be present without the other. It is a wheel or rim of nine rods or strings with each performing inner and outer functions that the other cannot do and none can act in isolation from the other.

1. The Fruit of the Spirit Gentleness

i. Disposition to be gentle, soft spoken or kind
ii. Disposition to be even-tempered (not high, hot or reactionary tempered).
iii. Disposition not to be agitated, aggravated or become irrational or easily irritated
iv. Disposition of being cultured – particularly in the Christlike culture.

3. This Fruit of the Spirit – Gentleness – Deeper Understanding

It is a portion of the fruit of the Spirit. So it is the spirit of gentleness. It is in the realm of the spirit and then manifests or shows up not once but always as what you can see, sense, touch, handle and partake of it. It has the nature of taking charge, controlling, guiding, directing and restraining the possessor.

It affects what you see, how you see, what you hear and what you hear; how you understand; how things impact or affect you; affects your reaction; your speech; tone; words temperaments and how people see, hear and feel you as well as react to you.

There is a difference between violent waters and calm waters. It is not the same as when we refer to a man as a gentleman. Gentleness is filling, total, complete, always, not seasonal or some of the time.

The man that is full of the fruit of the spirit called gentleness is: Refined in thought, imaginations, character and conducted actions like Christ Jesus. A man that is a joy, lifting and light to be around his mental state, emotional state, physical state, marriage, family, business etc

What is Longsuffering?
Patient Endurance

What is it to be patient?
It is to be able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.

a. Bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint

b. Manifesting forbearance under provocation or strain

c. Not hasty or impetuous

d. Steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity

e. Able or willing to bear —used with of

Why do they refer to sick people in hospital as sick but patients? This may give us a better understanding of the fruit of the Spirit, Long-Suffering. Remember they get paid for such care of patients in the hospitals.

A patient is an individual awaiting or under medical care and treatment. This is how you long-suffer in treating and relating with all. They are patients under care that Christ may be formed in them as He is formed in you through long-suffering. Christ can become formed in you as you allow Him to be formed in other through you.

What then is Endurance?

The ability to endure an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.

The capacity of something to last or to withstand wear and tear.

The ability to continue to do a thing for a longtime.

Remember, an endurance trek or walk. There loads of hazards and dangers on the way. So there are rules, guidelines, regulations and conditions. Apart from this mess are are medics and ambulances on the standby.

Longsuffering is patient endurance to bear long with frailties of others.– Jesus and the disciples; David and his vagabonds;

Longsuffering is patient endurance to bear long with offences of others.- David and Joab his nephew – 2 Samuel 3:39

Longsuffering is patient endurance to bear long with injuries inflicted of others. – David and King Saul – 1 Samuel 26:17-20

LongSuffering is patient endurance to bear long with provocations of others. Remember Hannah and her mate wife in 1 Samuel 1: 6

These LongSuffering are with conditions attached for it to be LongSuffering. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

1. Number one condition is that it is done without murmuring – a subdued or private expression of discontent or dissatisfaction.

2. Number two condition is that it is done without — feeling sad or complaining

3. Number three condition is that it is done without resentment – a mixture of disappointment, disgust, anger, and fear Moses also adding David and Joseph apart from the Lord Jesus is a classic case of the fruit of the Spirit, Longsuffering.

a. His story of Moses – conceived, birth, weaned, survived and raised in long suffering Exodus 1-2

b. Personal traits of Moses in Egypt – Exodus 2;3

4. The Moses at 80 that became a deliverer – Exodus 3

5. Moses described as the meekest man – Numbers 12:3

9. Travails of Joseph’s destiny was overcome with long suffering – the jealousy of his brothers, travails in Portiphar’s house, challenges with the wife, in prison and also meeting his brothers again. Here is understanding, outlook and overcoming strength – Genesis 50:20

10. How about many characters that failed in longsuffering as represented by – Sarah in the birthing of Ishmael – Genesis 16; Lot and his family – Genesis 19 and 20;

11. Concerning Jesus – Isaiah 53:7 – He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Acts 8:32 – The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.

CONCLUSION

The Lord is looking at you to release yourself to the Holy Spirit to help you live a life of long suffering and he is not looking at those around you for your failure but as people that will help you.

Get this wisdom and live in it beloved. There is danger of not finishing well and strong without the fruit of the Spirit – Long-suffering.

Introduction
The Fruit of the Spirit – Peace | Gal 5:22-23

There is no religion that does not speak about peace as a cardinal need, requirement and blessings. However, there is no God called the God of peace apart from the Lord God Almighty. There is no kingdom that has a prince that is the Prince of Peace but the kingdom of our God and savior Christ Jesus.

There is no faith apart from ours that knows and shows the source of lack of peace as sin and disobedience to God. There is no faith that makes a way for peace and reconciles back to the God of peace like ours.

There is calamity, sorrow and eternal death now and forever with the peace of God. This peace of the Lord – is administered by the Holy Spirit. That is why peace is part of the fruit of the Spirit.

MAN’S NEED FOR PEACE

1. This peace is not of man but of God

2. Man is not called man of peace

3. It is external to man. Foreign to man

4. Man needs peace – spirit, soul and body.

5. A man that has peace has the right foundation to have all other things.

6. Without this peace many things will slide a man

7. Without peace God is not with the man

8. One of the major proofs that God is with a man and a man is with God – is the blessing of the peace of God.

What Is Peace?

It is complete and total confidence in the Lord, that He would do all He says He would do and that He is all He says He is, and will bring to pass all He has said and promised concerning you. It is unfailing trust in God. It is complete rest in the faithfulness of the Lord.

Peace says no matter what is going on in, with and around you, it is well and the Lord is in charge.

Ex 14:15-16:- command the people to go forward.

1 Sam 17: David confronting Goliath

Mark 4:38- Jesus sleeping in the boat on the turbulent sea.

To therefore understand, know and thirst for the fruit of the Spirit called Peace, we shall examine what the Trinity teaches, reveals and helps us to understand about peace.

The Need For This Peace Has Declared and Revealed By The Relationship of God The Father With Man“

1. Genesis 3:7-8; 15-16; 17-19- Peace worked against, broken and lost in.

2. Genesis 14:18-20 – See Peace and Tithe tied together. In the spirit, soul, body, resources and prosperity etc.

3. Exodus 20:24 – the need for a constant peace offering.

4. Judges 6:24 – God fights to give peace.

5. Isaiah 9:6-7 – there is a kingdom of peace.

6. Isaiah 26:3 – peace of God is a perfect peace with no shortcomings at all.

7. Isaiah 53:5 – there is a cost to peace that no man can bear nor pay but the Lord alone can through His Son.

8. Romans 16:20 – there is a God of peace from who only this peace can come.

9. 1 Corinthians 1:3; Galatians 1:3; Ephesians 1:2 – same God of Peace.

10. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 – If your peace is not from Him, then it is no peace, peace of the fruit of the Spirit.

11. Hebrews 13:20 – the power of this God of peace – gives an everlasting peace.

The Need For This Peace Has Declared and Pronounced by The Prince of Peace, God The Son, Himself.

1. Isaiah 9:6-7 – He is Peace Personified; In Him is the fullness of Peace Expressed. If you have Jesus you have the fullness of peace.

2. John 14:27 – He is Peace, himself- for without him there is no peace at all

3. Ephesians 2:14-18 – this peace once given, and received must then become your own – personalized, the way you leave generates more, constant, regular and ever-increasing peace.

4. He is made our peace. Remember the chastisement or price for our peace was laid upon him – Isaiah 53:5

5. Philippians 4:7:- Nothing can overcome nor override this peace, it gives power over all situations and circumstances

6. Colossians 3:15 – Peace does not just stay, it must rule for you to say you have the peace of God. Where peace is present – it must rule, be in charge and in control.

7. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 – it is an ever-present peace, you are in a River of Peace, ever wet in it and with it. No temporary.

The Need For This Peace Has Declared and Pronounced by The Word of God Has Revealed By God The Holy Spirit.

No wonder then it is the fruit of the Spirit of God. It is God the Holy Spirit that administers the peace of God.
Where the Holy Spirit is not present, the peace of God cannot be present.

1. Galatians 5:22-23

2. Philippians 4:7:- This fruit is like being drunk with it, no space for anything else.

3. Colossians 3:15 – the fruit dominates you.

4. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 – cannot leave outside the fruit.

CONCLUSION

The fruit of the Spirit Peace is – My peace I give to you not as the world give.

The peace that passeth all understanding Peace like a River Covers and delivers all Categories of peace – of money, career, business, marriage, having children, salvation, God, eternal life.

The Lord will keep him in perfect peace whose heart is stayed on him- in the Holy Spirit. – Isaiah 26:3 The heart that not travel The heart that does not leave the presence of God The heart that trusts, abides, remains, believes, is humble

Peace requires certain conditions to come and stay. Some things and peace cannot dwell together nor do they attract each other. The conditions that make the Holy Spirit abides with us still.
