DISCOURAGEMENT – A DANGEROUS ENEMY OF THE BELIEVER


Introduction

A discouraged man is of very little benefit to himself, other people and to the Lord.

Discouragement drains.

Discouragement makes weak.

Discouragement makes blind.

Discouragement is a weapon and tool of the enemy.

Discouragement is an enemy of God and man.


The Holy Spirit is shut out and down in discouragement, Discouragement brings and encourages darkness, hopelessness, powerlessness, defeat and failure. Therefore, a child of God must guide and guard against discouragement.

There is no one that cannot and is not always attacked with discouragement. Discouragement is like a deflated or punctured tyre. It cannot go far and well if not taken care of, it reduces speed, motion, progress for the rider and also those around him.


Purpose of Study

Discouragement is dangerous, blinding and suffocating children of God must guide and guard against discouragement.

Our study focus today is on discouragement, an enemy of the children of God, a took of attack and aggression by the enemy. It is all around us every time.


What Is Discouragement?

Loss of hope. Loss of confidence or enthusiasm in something important, precious, good or needed and required. It being dispirited. It is giving in to things, people or circumstances that are preventing, deterring or creating difficulties and bottlenecks on your path to a goal, life, vision or focus.

It is loosing Will power to forge ahead, confront, strife, contend, seeing no obstacles, giants on the way.

The discouraged see, thinks and perceives differently from the encouraged.

It is a deflated tyre compared to a deflated tyre.

It is a man breathing normally and naturally compared to one that without oxygen he is dead.

Discouragement can be spiritual, emotional, physical, in ideas, in strength.
