The Expected Christian Life and Description
BIBLE PASSAGE – Gen 1:26-28, Phil 2:12-15
INTRODUCTION:
God is the creator of heaven and earth he created man through our first parents, Adam and Eve – Gen 1:26, 28
He created man with a definite mandate as reflected in Gen 1:28. We are created for his glory- Is 43:7, Col 1:16
This becomes the mandate to the church and humanity.
GOD’S EXPECTATION
1. Serve him as a duty and command- 1 Chro. 7:5, 1 Chro. 12:32
2. Help fulfill God’s mandate to humanity on earth – 2 kings 4:8-14
CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE FULFILLED
1. The individuals must be born again- Jh 3:3, 7, 1:12, and remain with him- mark 3:14
2. You must receive power, since spiritual assignment requires spiritual power- Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49
3. Continuously be in touch with the source – John 15:5
4. Obedience – Isa 1:19, Isa. 48:17-19
5. He requires our totality – Deut 6:5, Matt 22:37, Deut 11:13, Ps 119:10, 1 Sam 12:24
6. Understand that it’s an unending work – 1 Cor 15:8, Col 3:23-24, Phil 3:13-14
7. It is a service with reward from God- Gal 6:9, Matt 25:21
REWARDS OF DILIGENT SERVICE
This can best be explained using Ps 1:1-3
1. He will have an abundant supply of all his needs, Phil.4:19.
2. He has nothing to worry about – Matt. 6:25-33
3. You will always be glorious – Col. 1:27
4. You will always be fruitful – Ps. 128:1-6
5. A blessing to others around him – Matt. 5:13-16 and a source of blessing to God too – I Cor. 3:9.
CONCLUSION
Sure you love to be like a tree by the riverside. But are you willing to meet God’s conditions? If you are willing, God is also willing.
