The Expected Christian Life and Description
BIBLE PASSAGE – JOHN 8:29, HEB11:6, EPH 5:8-10
INTRODUCTION
The Christian is a believer in Christ saved by grace through faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and the atoning power of his blood shed on the cross of Calvary. He lives a Christ-like life that brings glory to God only by grace.
WHY SHOULD WE CHRISTIAN PLEASE GOD
A Christian should please God for the following reasons
- Jesus is the Author and finisher of our faith, the Alpha and the omega having all power.
- It is a way to thank the lover of our soul 1cor 15: 57
- It is what God expects from his children John 8:28
- It is a practical opportunity to declare our allegiance to Jesus and not Satan John 14: 30-31
- So that we can enjoy peace even from our enemies pro 16: 7
WAYS TO PLEASE THE LORD
- By total obedience to the will of God Det 6:5, Det 20:12, 1sam 15:22
- The fear of the Lord please God Psalm 147:11
- When we are spiritually minded please God. Rom8:6-11
- By our faith Heb 11:6
- Study and follow Christ example matt 11:5
- By giving the sacrifice of praise to God He 13:15-16
- By presenting your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto God Rom12:1
- Seek God with all your heart. Psalm 34:10
- By Godly conduct col3 :1-17, 1Thes 5:14-15
Example of those that pleases the Lord
Enoch Heb 11:5
Enoch is given in the scripture as an example of one who walked by faith
God is pleased when we put our trust in him and walk by faith
He is pleased when we believe His words and His promises and live out our days acknowledging that he is present with us and he is Lord over all
CONCLUSION
God created all things including Christian for his pleasure. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. God rewards those who diligently seek him
