INTRODUCTION
The Fruit of the Spirit – Love 1
This is not man’s kind of love but God’s kind of love. This love is above and beyond man. It is part of the nature of God that makes God, God. It is what makes God not to be man. This love is part of what makes God the all-powerful God. We should not confuse this love of the spirit with the love man has or can generate.
This love is of God, can only come from God and can only be given and operated in man by God through His Spirit. It is not natural, it is supernatural. It is not of the flesh but of the spirit. It is not earthly but heavenly but must become earthly for it to have impact, be lived and be felt.
What Is This Love? that is fruit of the Spirit?
Laying down once life, gifts, position, resources, time, treasures, sweat, labours for another: John 3:16-17 | John 15:13 | 1 John 3:16
i. This love is older than man
ii. This love is of God
iii. It is a great attribute of God.
iv. It is this love that made God to have wonderful plans for man.
v. It is this love that made God to create man the way he did.
vi. It is the kind of love that made God to have redemption plans for man – John3:16.
vii. It is the love that made God to have an eternal plan for man.
viii. It is a constant, unchangeable, unquenchable, above our thoughts, imagination and comprehension kind of love.
ix. It is the love, kind of love the Lord wants to be our foundation and pattern of our lives and living.
x. It is this fruit of the spirit – love that helps us to know God, Love like God, See, reason, imagine like God, Have faith like God, constrains us to Belief, trusts and live godly life.
xi. It is the power of this love that we receive in John 1:12.
How Do I Know I Have This Love?
Mark 12:33 | Romans 5:5 | Romans 13:8 | 2 Corinthians 5:14 | Ephesians 3:17
i. It shows by your obedience and level of obedience to God – partial, conditional, semi, total, complete, unconditional
ii. It shows by your submission to God

iii. It shows in your trust in God
iv. It shows in how you compromise or do not compromise
v. It shows in how you are available for God and the things of God.
vi. Nothing is more important than what God’s says, wants will desire and desire.
No Man Can Love Like This-Except God Be With Him

xi. Being selfish is not the same as loving yourself
xii. Being selfish is not a sign that you love yourself

The love of God for us shows in Who He is, What He has done, What He has promised and What He is doing.
In His Great Names – Rock, Defense, Shield, Buckler, Strong Tower, Help, Sustainer, Anchor etc Run to Him and into Him for this love. It was this love that made Jesus withstood the pain, agony and shame of the cross.
